How it Happened
Set One:
Keiser won the first four points of the set and cruised until Johnson & Wales closed to within 11-8. VandeHei then put down a kill to start and end a 5-0 run to extend the advantage to 16-8. KU continued their outstanding play and took the first set by a final of 25-14.
Set Two:
The Seahawks clung to a one-point advantage before a service error began a 6-2 spurt to push the margin to 11-5, forcing JWU to take a timeout. Fast forward to KU holding a 15-9 lead, a Seward kill began an 8-0 run to make it 23-9. After trading points,
Eshe Malone closed the set with a kill, winning 25-11 and giving the Seahawks a 2-0 lead in the match.

Set Three:
The Wildcats trailed just once in the third set before coming away with a 25-21 victory to get within 2-1 in the match. Johnson & Wales led 15-11 when a
Mikayla Livingston kill helped KU run off the next five points to take a 16-15 advantage. However, the Wildcats answered by taking four of the next six points to regain a 19-17 edge. The Seahawks tied the set twice down the stretch, 19-19 and 21-21 but would fall in the end, 25-21.
Set Four:
Keiser jumped out to a 4-0 advantage but the Wildcats came right back with a 7-1 run to claim a 7-5 lead. Following four ties, JWU tallied four of the next five points to regain a 15-12 lead. However, a pair of Seward kills and a Leff service ace equalized the match at 15-15. The set then endured five ties and a pair of lead changes when Keiser called a timeout trailing 23-21. A Seward kill and a ball handling error retied the match and JWU took their final timeout of the set. Following an exchange of points, a Malone kill and Seward ace sealed the 26-24 victory and the 3-1 match win.
