The sixth-ranked women's soccer team came from behind to defeat St. Thomas 4-3 in overtime on Wednesday afternoon. Keiser trailed 2-0 at halftime before scoring three goals in the second half to force the contest into overtime.
Stat of the Match
The lone shot in overtime turned out to be the game-winner by
Maxi Krug as the sophomore scored on a free kick from the top of the box.
How it Happened
- St. Thomas found the back of the net in the eighth and 16th minutes to take a 2-0 advantage on the Seahawks.
- Keiser was unable to break through in the opening half despite holding an 8-4 edge on shots.
- Just 1:24 into in the new half, Ebba Gustafsson was on the receiving end of a cross from Filippa Millqvist to get within 2-1.
- However, STU got the goal back just one minute later as Andrea Mazur headed in a cross from Castano Candela.
- The Seahawks again got to within one in the 68th minute as Tova Nilsson netted her first goal of the season, sneaking the ball into the near post off a shot from the far right side.
- Three minutes later, Emma Holmskov equalized the game with a header into the back of the net off a corner from Millqvist.
- Neither team would find the back of the net in the next 24 minutes as the game went into the overtime period.
- Krug then won the game for the Seahawks just three minutes into the overtime period with the free kick from the top of the box.

- Keiser improved to 18-2-1 all-time against the Bobcats of St. Thomas.
- Today's overtime win was the first of the season for KU.
- Krug's game-winner was her fourth this season, second-most on the team.
- The Seahawks remained in the sixth spot of the national poll for the second straight week.
