The Seahawks volleyball team won their second straight Sun Conference match on Friday evening against Ave Maria 3-1. Â The back-to-back-to-back Sun Conference Attacker of the Week,
Abbie Seward finished with a match-best 25 kills.
Eshe Malone also had a big match, finishing with 19 kills. Three Seahawks finished with double-figure digs including;
Morgan Leff (20),
Stephanie Sanchez (16), and
Jordan Odom (13).
Brooklyn VandeHei passed for a game-best 49 assists.

How it Happened
Set One:
Ave Maria held an early 6-3 edge before an attack error sparked a 7-1 run to put the Seahawks back in front 10-7. After the Gyrenes grabbed the next two points, Keiser responded with a 10-1 run including eight consecutive points to take a commanding 21-10 advantage. KU continued to march down the stretch, winning 25-13.
Set Two:
Keiser raced out to a 6-1 lead in the second set and maintained their lead until AMU knotted the score at nine apiece.  Following three ties, AMU upped their lead to 17-13, forcing Keiser into a timeout. The Seahawks closed to within one, 21-20, but Ave Maria ran off the final four points to win 25-20 and tie the match at one-apiece.

Set Three:
The Seahawks trailed 11-8 early in the set before a Seward kill put Keiser in front for the first time at 12-11. After Ave Maria tied the score at 12-12, the Seahawks used an 8-4 run to push their lead to the largest of the set, 20-15. AMU climbed to within one, 21-20, but KU tallied four of the next five points to win 25-21, retaking a 2-1 advantage in the match.

Set Four:
Keiser jumped out to a 4-0 advantage before pushing their lead to as many as six, 12-6. The Seahawks continued to build on their momentum until the Gyrenes got to within 20-18. However, KU won the final five points of the set, taking the set 25-18 and the match 3-1.
