Turning Point
With the Seahawks holding a 59-48 lead at the 7:15 mark of the fourth quarter, Webber took over the game, outscoring Keiser 22-10, to come away with the 70-69 victory.
How it Happened
- The Seahawks held a slim advantage through the first five and half minutes despite four ties before Webber took their first lead of the game, 10-8.
- Keiser went on to outscore the Warriors 9-5 and held a narrow 17-15 lead going into the second quarter. Midori Long paced KU in the period with ten points.
- Following a Kelsi Ash jumper to open the second, Webber answered with eight unanswered points to go in front, 23-19, with 6:49 on the clock.
- However, a pair of free throws by Kyrah James and a Dyson jumper equalized the game at 23-apiece at the 5:46 mark.
- Webber would briefly retake the lead but the Seahawks closed out the half on a 9-1 run to lead 32-26 at the break.
- In the new half, Keiser's defense held the Warriors offense without a field goal until the six-minute mark while growing their lead to eight, 39-31.
- KU kept the margin at seven points during the remainder of the frame before heading into the fourth quarter in front, 53-43.
- The Seahawks extended the margin to 59-48 at the 8:59 mark, when the Warriors used a 22-10 run to claim a 68-67 lead with 46 seconds remaining. The lead was Webber's first since the 3:40 mark of the opening frame.
- Dyson answered with a huge jumper in the paint with 11 seconds to go, putting Keiser back in front 69-68.
- However, the Seahawks were called for a foul with seven seconds to go, and Webber converted the pair at the line to retake a 70-69 advantage.
- Nikki Saunders had a chance to win the game at the buzzer but her jumper went off the front rim.
