After claiming their first win of the season this afternoon against Concordia, the Seahawks dropped their night cap to No. 24 Madonna 3-1. For the second straight match, senior
Amanda Medlock led the way with 13 kills. On defense,
Samantha Thompson ended with six blocks, and
Morgan Leff had 27 digs, while
Abbie Seward chipped in 23.

Set One
Madonna controlled the set early with a 4-1 lead before the Seahawks scored four unanswered points to claim a 5-4 advantage. The Crusaders responded with a 6-1 spurt to retake a 10-6 lead and kept the Seahawks in a three-point deficit. With Keiser trailing 14-11, Madonna extended the margin to 19-11 while Keiser couldn't get any closer than four and falling, 25-18.
Set Two
The Seahawks jumped out to a 4-2 advantage behind three kills by Medlock and one by Thompson. Madonna came right back with a 4-1 run to claim their first advantage at 6-5, and kept the margin at two through three ties until the match was tied at 14-apiece. Following three unforced errors and a Seward kill, the Seahawks reclaimed the lead at 18-15. However, the lead was brief as Madonna ran off six-straight points to regain a 21-18 advantage. The Seahawks then settled down and closed out the set on a 7-2 run, winning 25-23, and tying the match at one set apiece.

Set Three
For the first time tonight, Keiser won the opening point and stretched their lead to 6-3, but Madonna stormed back with a 13-2 run to take a 16-8 advantage. The Seahawks got as close as 18-13 but couldn't gain any more ground, falling by a score of 25-20.

Set Four
The Crusaders raced out to a 5-1 advantage before the Seahawks responded with a 7-3 run behind a pair of kills by Medlock and a service ace by
Patricia Costa to tie it at 8-8. Following a Crusader's kill, a pair of unforced errors gave Keiser their lone lead of the set at 10-9. However, Madonna would gain control from there and go on to win the set, 25-16.
