- With his ninth win of the season, Garmendia now ties the program record for most wins by a pitcher in a single season along with Steven Bruce and Kyle Keatts.
- Zack Saldivar, Brad Myott, Tivon Faneyte and Miguel Casanueva each finished the contest 2-4, combining for three runs batted in and three runs scored.
Â
Turning Point
Daniel Garmendia's pitching performance was the turning point in Saturday's contest as the 2017 Sun Conference Pitcher of the Year shined in elimination game one, holding USCB to just one hit and zero runs scored. When Keiser needed the win, it turned to its ace who displayed the best performance of his season, striking out seven batters to remain unbeaten in his last eight starts.

How it Happened
- The Seahawks struck first in the bottom of the opening inning following Tivon Faneyte's RBI double to left field, plating Zack Saldivar from second who led off the inning with a bunt single.
- Keiser stranded runners on second and third to end the inning following back-to-back strikeouts by Jack Curtis and Carlos Pena.
- Keiser had another chance to score in the bottom of the second with runners on first and second but the Seahawks missed the opportunity as Keivan Berges struck out swinging for the third out.
- The Sand Sharks nearly tied the contest in the top of the third inning until Miguel Casanueva nearly had to pirouette, running from short to shallow center field to make the inning-ending grab.
- Keiser had runners on the corners with two outs in the bottom of the third but failed to score as Dylan Dore struck out swinging to end yet another Keiser threat.
- The Seahawks stretched their lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning beginning with Saldivar's RBI single to shallow center field to plate Casanueva from second.
- Keiser's third run came off the bat of Brad Myott following his RBI single to right field to bring home Saldivar from second.
- The Seahawks fought off the Sand Sharks in the top of the sixth inning, stranding runners on first and second after a strikeout and ground out ended the USCB scoring threat to preserve the 3-0 lead.
- Dore stretched the Keiser lead even further in the bottom of the seventh inning with an RBI sacrifice fly to deep center field, plating Reyni Olivero from third for the 4-0 advantage.
- Much like he did all game, Garmendia shut down the potent USCB offense, holding the Sand Sharks off the scoreboard over the final two innings to claim the 4-0 shutout victory.
