Keiser Highlights
- Keiser completed the largest comeback in program and conference tournament history on Sunday, overcoming a 10-run deficit to advance to Monday's championship day.
- Four different Seahawks registered two hits, none bigger than Gabby Mundo and Jack Curtis' home runs that propelled Keiser to the 12-11 victory.
- Mundo finished the game with three runs batted in, as did Reyni Olivero with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the seventh inning that pulled Keiser to within three.
- Brandon Acevedo earned his third win of the season after throwing two innings and yielding just one run on three hits.
Â
Turning Point
Though there are many to choose from such as the seven-run seventh or the Curtis walk off blast, the turning point in Sunday's contest proved to be
Gabby Mundo's two-run shot in the eighth to bring Keiser to within one run. After the Bobcats stretched their lead back to four,
Miguel Casanueva lifted a sacrifice fly to left field to set up Mundo's chances to trim the deficit even further. Mundo delivered in a big way with his two-run bomb over the right field fence to ignite the crowd and the Keiser dugout, showing once again that you still have to play the game.

How it Happened
- Keiser aimed to score in the bottom of the first inning with runners on first and second with one out, but failed to do so as Zack Saldivar was picked off at third followed by Tivon Faneyte's ground out to end the inning.
- St. Thomas registered its first hit of the ballgame in the top of the fourth as Michael Centeno led off with a solo homerun over the left center wall.
- The Bobcats scored four more runs in the inning, capped off by Kendrick Gutierrez's single to left that brought in three runs following a fielding error by Saldivar.
- St. Thomas stretched its lead to 7-0 in the top of the sixth inning after Gutierrez's two-RBI single to right field.
- The Bobcats added three more runs in the seventh inning, highlighted by German Morales two-RBI single to right field for the 10-0 advantage.
- Keiser rallied in the bottom of the seventh to make it a ballgame once again, scoring seven runs on three hits to cut the St. Thomas lead to just 10-7.
- The first Seahawk run came off the passed ball, allowing Tyler Hitt to score from third for Keiser's first run of the contest.
- Keiser scored its second run of the contest after Gabby Mundo drew a bases-loaded walk with one out to cut the deficit to eight.
- Keiser scored its third and fourth run after a hit batter followed by an infield single by Brad Myott.
- The final three runs of the inning came off the bat of Reyni Olivero, ripping a bases-clearing double in the left center gap to pull Keiser to within three runs.
- St. Thomas stretched its lead back to four runs in the top of the eighth inning as David Palenzuela plated Centeno with a groundout to short for the 11-7 advantage.
- Keiser began another rally in the bottom of the eighth inning beginning with Casanueva's sacrifice fly to left field to bring home Curtis from third.
- The Seahawks pulled to within one on the next at bat as Mundo laced a two-run homerun over the right field wall, igniting the Keiser faithful.
- St. Thomas nearly extended its lead back to two in the top of the ninth until Casanueva made a web-gem caliber play with a sliding dive up the middle to hose Diaz out at first to end the inning.
- The stars seemed to be in line for the Keiser comeback as Olivero reached on a leadoff walk, later stealing second to put the tying run in scoring position.
- Curtis completed the historic comeback for Keiser, belting a two-run shot on a 1-2 count with one out, sending the Seahawks into the final day of the TSC championship.

Kennedy on the Comeback
Sports Information Graduate Assistant
Ross Schwinger caught up with head coach
Jeremy Kennedy after the game. "It was a special, special game and to come back on a good team like that is one of the best jobs of completing a comeback that I have ever seen and I am in my 10
th year. I told the guys that was the most proud that I have ever been of them.
Reyni Olivero stepped up in a huge way after Tivon got hurt, he played outstanding and had a big hit. Gabby didn't start game one of the tournament and had the big homerun that brought us to within one. Jack has been struggling at the plate and he came through with the walk off homerun.
Brandon Acevedo did a good job of holding it together in the very end on the mound in the final two innings. There are just so many guys that stepped up and it was a total team effort and I couldn't be more proud of these boys."
Â
Curtis on his Walkoff
"That was one of the greatest feelings that I have ever had in my life," stated
Jack Curtis. "To be able to come back and win this game was unbelievable with how we did it. Being down 10 going into the seventh, this team didn't give up and I feel honored that I was able to be a part of this historic comeback."
Up Next
