How it Happened
- Despite collecting three hits in the first inning, the Grenadiers were unable to capitalize for the early lead as Garmendia settled in to record the final two outs of the frame.
- The Seahawks wasted no time claiming the early advantage as Brad Myott lifted a sacrifice fly to plate Saldivar from third for the 1-0 lead.
- IU Southeast knotted the contest at 1-1 following a leadoff triple and single to open the second inning.
- The Seahawks quickly reclaimed the lead over the three-seeded Grenadiers as Saldivar ripped a triple down the right field line with two on and two out, plating Reyni Olivero and Jack Curtis for the 3-1 advantage.
- Keiser threatened to score again in the bottom of the fourth inning with runners on second and third but failed to do so as Saldivar flew out to right center to end the inning.
- IU Southeast roped back-to-back singles to lead off the top of the sixth inning, but failed to score yet again as Garmendia induced a 5-4-3 double play followed by a ground out to third to end the inning.
- The Seahawks added two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, beginning with Dylan Dore's RBI triple to left center, bringing home Carlos Pena from first.
- Miguel Casanueva provided the second run of the inning with a sacrifice fly to right field, plating Dore from third.
- Keiser put the game away in the bottom of the seventh with two more runs from the bat of Keivan Berges and Myott.
- Berges' brought in Saldivar from second with an RBI double, while Myott plated Gabby Mundo with an RBI single through the right side of the infield.
