Game One
Keiser Highlights
  • Keiser hit four solo homeruns in the contest including two by Keivan Berges, one by Jack Curtis, and one by Tivon Faneyte.
  • Berges, Dore, and Curtis all finished with two hits in the contest while Keiser had eight as team in the game.
  • Kyle Keatts took a no-decision, despite going six innings with five strikeouts, while not allowing an earned run.

Turning Point
The turning point of the first game came in the seventh inning when the Seahawks were leading 3-1 but USCB plated four runs on a wild pitch and three-run homerun to left center. The Sand Sharks went on to limit the Seahawks offense down the stretch and came away with a 7-5 victory.
 
How it Happened
  • After Keatts retired the side in the first, Berges gave the Seahawks an early 1-0 lead with a solo homerun to left center.
  • USCB loaded the bases in the second on a pair of singles and a walk, but Keatts got the next two Sand Sharks via the strikeout to escape the jam.
  • The Sand Sharks again threatened in the third with runners on a second and third, and one-out, but Keatts registered a strikeout and fly out to end the inning.
  • Berges then went deep for the second time in the game in the third, this time over the left field fence, upping the lead to 2-0.
  • In the fourth, a first-pitch bloop double to right by Curtis led off the inning, and moved to third on a single up the middle by Dylan Dore. A wild pitch then plated Curtis, to raise the advantage to 3-0.
  • The first two USCB batters reached on singles in the sixth, and an error loaded the bases with nobody out. The Sand Sharks got on the board with a one-out sacrifice fly to right center by Justin Kortessis.
  • However, Curtis matched the run with a one-out solo homerun to center field, making it 4-1.
  • A pair of singles and a walk in the seventh for USCB loaded the bases with nobody out before Arias, recorded a clutch strikeout.
  • However, a wild pitch brought in a run and a three-run homer to left center by Bobby Wenthe gave the Sand Sharks a 5-4 lead.
  • USCB tacked on a run in the ninth with a one-out double by Nick Payne and a squeeze bunt by Wade Ardnini plated their final run, to lead 7-4.
  • The Seahawks scored one last run in the bottom half on the fourth solo homerun of the game, this time by Faneyte to left field.

Game Two
Keiser Highlights
  • The Seahawks outhit the Sand Sharks 17-11 with Myott going a perfect 5-5 at the dish. Dore also had three hits in the game while finishing a homerun shy of the cycle.
  • Eight of the nine starters for Keiser had at least one run batted in with Myott having a game high four.
  • Keiser went 5-5 with stolen bases including two from Dore and Casanueva.
  • Daniel Garmendia moved to 8-2 on the year after going 5.1 innings with eight strikeouts.
 
Turning Point
The turning point of the second game was the five run fifth by the Seahawks, which all came with two-outs in the inning.
 
How it Happened
  • The Sand Sharks took a 1-0 lead in the first on a balk by Garmendia with runners on the corners and one out. Nick Payne raised the margin to 2-0, with a two-out double to the gap in left center.
  • The Seahawks were held scoreless until the third when they plated four runs.
  • Miguel Casanueva led off with a double off the left field fence and then Zack Saldivar drew a walk. Brad Myott scored Casanueva from second with a double to left field and an RBI single up the middle by Carlos Pena knotted the game at 2-2.
  • A Curtis squeeze bunt put Keiser in front 3-2, and an RBI single up the middle by Faneyte raised the margin to 4-2.
  • The Sand Sharks got a run back in the fourth on an Alex Murphy leadoff homer to left and a second balk on Garmendia tied the game at 4-4.
  • However, Keiser regained the lead in the fourth on a sacrifice fly to right by Berges, scoring Dylan Dore who started the inning with a double.
  • In the fifth, the Seahawks erupted with five runs on two-outs to break the game open.
  • Dore started it with a deep triple off the top of the blue monster in left, plating Curtis all the way from first. Dore then stole home on a soft throw from the catcher back to the pitcher.
  • Saldiver made it 8-4 with a double down the left field line, and Myott capped the scoring in the inning with a two-run double to left, to lead 10-4.
  • USCB got four runs back in the sixth on a one-out grand slam to left by Brandon Joyce, cutting the deficit to 10-8.
  • In the sxith, Faneyte elevated the first pitch he saw over the left field fence for a two-run homer, pushing the margin to 12-8. CJ Fitzpatrick made it back-to-back homeruns with a bomb over the left field fence.
  • Myott capped the four-run inning with a single down the right field line, plating Casanueva who had walked earlier in the inning.
  • A first pitch swinging Dore moved the score to 15-8 in the seventh with an RBI single to left.
  • However, USCB plated a pair of runs in the eighth on a two-out RBI single to left, to get within 15-10.
  • Faneyte capped the scoring in the contest with a two-run single to the shortstop in the bottom of the eighth, to win the game by a final of 17-10.

These same two teams will meet tomorrow to conclude the three-game series with a first pitch scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
