Game One
Keiser Highlights
  • Brad Myott finished the contest 3-5 with four runs batted in to lead the Seahawks in batted and in RBIs.
  • Zack Saldivar also registered three hits, notching two RBIs in the process to finish second on the team in runs batted in.
  • Daniel Garmendia notched win number seven in the process, pitching six and one thirds innings with three earned runs and five strikeouts.
 
Turning Point
Brad Myott's performance in game two proved to be the difference maker. Myott finished game one going 3-5 with three RBIs. Myott backed up Friday's performance by going 3-5 with four runs batted in in game two.
 

How it Happened
  • The Fire had a golden opportunity to score in the bottom of the first inning with runners on the corners and nobody out.
  • Southeastern failed to plate the first run as Garmendia struck out two of the next three batters, picking off Marcus Stump for the final out of the inning.
  • Keiser jumped on Southeastern's missed opportunity in the top of the second, plating five runs on five hits to claim the 5-0 advantage.
  • Jack Curtis kicked the scoring off with a full-count solo homerun over the left field fence for the early Keiser lead.
  • The second run of the inning came via the bases loaded walk drawn by Gabby Mundo, stretching the lead to 2-0 with just one out.
  • After Keivan Berges reached on a fielder's choice, Brad Myott singled to shallow right field to plate Zack Saldivar and Mundo for the 4-0 lead.
  • Carlos Pena's single to right field provided the Seahawks with their final run of the inning, bringing home Berges from third.
  • Southeastern trimmed the Keiser lead to four runs after Danny Acevedo scored on a fielder's choice for the Fire's first run in the bottom of the second.
  • Keiser scored one more run in the third inning to reclaim the five-run advantage, this time off the bat of Saldivar to plate Dylan Dore from second following an RBI single up the middle.
  • The Seahawks ran their lead to 7-1 in the top of the fourth inning as Myott doubled to deep left center, plating Berges to continue his dominance over Southeastern in the weekend series.
  • Keiser claimed a 9-1 lead in the top of the fifth as Saldivar registered his second RBI single, later followed by another Myott RBI base hit.
  • The Fire would not go away, plating four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut the lead to 9-5, highlighted by Kianalu Pitoy's two-RBI double down the left field line.
  • Southeastern trimmed the Keiser advantage to just one in the bottom of the seventh inning following Pitoy's three-run jack off Berges.
  • Keiser added an insurance run in the top of the eighth inning off the bat of Tyler Goff with a single down the left field line to bring in Faneyte from second.
  • CJ Fitzpatrick added Keiser's 11th run for good measure, leading off the top of the ninth inning with a pinch-hit homerun.
  • The Fire plated one final run in the bottom of the ninth inning as Mike D'Acunti reached on a bases-loaded walk to solidify the 11-9 Keiser victory.
 
Game Two
Keiser Highlights
  • Fitzpatrick ended the game 2-4 with a pair of singles to lead the Seahawks at the plate.
  • Saldivar, Faneyte, and Olivero each had one hit in the contest.
  • Castellanos suffered the loss on the mound despite striking out nine batters over six innings of work.
 
Turning Point
The turning point in game two was the terrific pitching of Southeastern's Nate Harmon who threw a complete game, limiting Keiser to five hits while racking up ten strikeouts.
 

How it Happened
  • The Fire started the game with back-to-back solo homeruns for their first lead of the series. SEU went on to load the bases with one out, but Miguel Castellanos settled down and got a fly out and strikeout to end the inning.
  • Keiser had a scoring opportunity in the fourth after Berges reached second on a missed catch by Luke Maher with one-out. Berges then moved to third on a deep fly out to left but Curtis grounded out to third, to end the threat.
  • In the fifth, Faneyte was hit by a pitch, and then Fitzpatrick ended the no-hitter with a single to shallow right. After Casanueva popped up on a sacrifice bunt attempt, Reyni Olivero loaded the bases with a single to shallow right.
  • Zack Saldivar delivered the Seahawks first-run on an RBI single through the hole at second, cutting the deficit to 2-1. However, Keiser was unable to do anymore damage as SEU got a lineout and fly out to end the frame.
  • Fitzpartick led off the seventh with a single to shallow right center and moved to second on a Casanueva hit by a pitch. Saldivar then drew a one-out walk to load the bases but Berges hit into an inning ending 4-6-3 double to play.
  • The Fire plated the final run of the game in the eighth on a two-out homer to center, winning by a final of 3-1.

Up Next
Keiser will take on Webber International at 3 p.m. on Wednesday in a nonconference tilt at Silvester Field. The contest against the Warriors will start a string of five games played at home to conclude the regular season.
