Keiser Highlights
  • Keiser mustered six hits in Sunday's win, including two hits apiece for Jack Curtis and Carlos Pena.
  • Pena finished the game with a team-high two runs batted in after finishing the game going 2-3 with one double.
  • Miguel Castellanos pitched a complete-game shutout, hurling 97 pitches and recording seven strikeouts while yielding just four hits to the Panthers.

Turning Point
The turning point in Sunday's contest was the performance on the mound by Faulkner transfer, Miguel Castellanos. The transfer senior pitched a complete-game shutout, striking out seven batters in the process, yielding just four hits. Castellanos' performance dropped his ERA to 0.97 on the season in seven appearances.

How it Happened
  • The top of the first inning was filled with drama early as Keivan Berges dropped the opening line drive by Brian Sobieski, followed by Austin Petravicius' walk to put runners on first and second with nobody out.
  • Miguel Castellanos pitched out of the jam when he induced a double play grounder off the bat of Oscar Heredia before punching out Brandon Larkin-Guilfoyle to end the threat.
  • Both squads were held hitless until Carlos Pena ripped a line drive over the outstretched glove of Jeremy Vasquez to open the bottom of the third inning.
  • The very next better, CJ Fitzpatrick, hit a frozen rope right at Vasquez who then doubled up Zach Saldivar at first who was in to pinch run for Pena.
  • Larkin-Guilfoyle recorded Davenport's first base hit of the contest in the top of the fourth inning with a single through the right side of the infield with two outs.
  • The first run of the ball game came in the bottom of the fifth inning when Jack Curtis laced a single to center field, plating Tivon Faneyte from second for the 1-0 Keiser advantage.
  • The Panthers had a chance to even the contest with runners on first and third with two outs until Larkin-Guilfoyle harmlessly flew out to center field to end the threat.
  • The Seahawks broke the game wide open in the bottom of the seventh inning when Keiser plated three runs on three hits and one Panther error.
  • Pena plated the first two runs of the inning with a bases-loaded one-out double to left center, bringing Faneyte and Berges around to score for the 3-0 lead.
  • Fitzpatrick then lifted a sacrifice fly to right center on the next at bat, bringing home Curtis from third to provide Keiser with the 4-0 advantage.
  • The Panthers were held to just one hit over the final two innings as Castellanos slammed the door shut in the rubber game, preserving the 4-0 victory in favor of the Seahawks.
