Turning Point
The final 8:23 of the second quarter proved to be the turning point as the Seahawks caught fire down the stretch. Keiser entered the stretch trailing the Gyrenes, 17-16. However, Keiser outscored host Ave Maria 25-6 to conclude the second quarter, taking the 41-23 advantage at half time. The Seahawks would not relinquish the lead.
 
How it Happened
  • Keiser scored 12 of the first 14 points in the game, taking an early 10-point lead with 6:18 left to play in the first quarter.
  • The Gyrenes stormed back, rattling off 13 consecutive points to claim the 15-12 lead over the Seahawks.
  • Patton scored the final two points of the quarter as Keiser trailed Ave Maria, 15-14, at the end of the first quarter.
  • The two team's traded baskets as the Gyrenes clung to the one-point advantage with 8:38 left to play in the first half.
  • From that point on, it would be all Keiser as the Seahawks soared ahead on a 25-6 run to end the first half, taking the 41-23 advantage heading into the locker room.
  • The Seahawks quickly stretched their lead to 20 after back-to-back jumpers by Miah Shephard and Midori Long.
  • The Gyrenes trimmed the Keiser lead to as little as 16 points in the third quarter but the Seahawks successfully extended the advantage to as much as 22 before the final buzzer of the third quarter.
  • The Seahawks outscored Ave Maria in the final quarter, 18-16, coasting to the 20-point victory.
