Turning Point
The third quarter proved to be troublesome for the Seahawks this evening as they were outscored 17-7 and put the visitors in front 49-36 heading into the final quarter of play.
How it Happened
- After two minutes of scoreless play to start the contest, Meade connected on a triple off an assist by Riley.
- Indiana Wesleyan responded by running off eight straight points to claim an 8-3 advantage at the 5:50 mark.
- Meade then nailed a three-pointer from the corner while being fouled to ignite an 8-0 run to go back in front 12-8 with 3:38 to play in the quarter.
- The Seahawks stretched the margin to as many as five, 17-12, on a Kyrah James three-pointer before holding a 17-14 lead at the end of the quarter.
- The Wildcats tallied the first five points of the second to reclaim a 19-17 advantage before Dyson hit a jumper in the paint to tie the game at 19-19 with 6:15 showing.
- However, IWU came right back with a 12-4 run to extend the margin to largest of the first half, 31-23 at the 1:51 mark.
- Long then scored four of the final six points of the half but the Seahawks were trailing 32-29 at the halftime break.
- The third quarter proved to be difficult for the Seahawks as they were outscored 17-7 and trailed 49-36, heading into the final quarter of the contest.
- The Seahawks outscored the Wildcats 10-8 in the fourth quarter and limited them to just two field goals.
- Keiser got as close eight, 54-46, at the 1:41 mark but was unable to cut the deficit any further.
