  • The Tritons opened the second half with an 8-3 run to tie the contest at 49-apiece at the 17:57 mark.
  • KU responded by scoring 11 of the games next 15 points to widen their lead to seven points, 60-53, their largest of the half, with just under 12 minutes remaining.
  • With the score, 67-61 favoring KU, Eckerd used a 9-2 spurt to reclaim a 70-69 advantage with 2:52 to play.
  • The Tritons held off KU until the 1:21 mark when Sarenac converted a pair of free throws to give the Seahawks a 74-72 lead.
  • Eckerd matched Sarenac's free throws with a pair of their own to tie the game but Goss connected on a jumper and split a pair of free throws to hold a 77-74 lead with 32 seconds to go.
  • However, the Tritons responded with a three-pointer to tie the game just six seconds later to set up a thrilling finish.
  • KU had two attempts to take a lead in the games closing seconds but were unable to capitalize.
