TURNING POINT
The turning point occurred after Warner got as close as 50-41 at the 18:29 mark of the second half but a Seahawks 12-0 run broke the game open with a 62-41 advantage with 13:35 left in regulation. Keiser continued to dominate the remainder of the game going up by as many as 40 and winning 96-60.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Seahawks jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead behind a three by Stefan Zecevic and a layup by Stanley Whittaker forcing Warner to burn an early timeout.
- The Royals got to within 11-8 when an
Andrija Sarenac three pointer sparked a 10-0 run extending the advantage to 21-8 with 14:23 remaining in the half and a second Warner timeout of the period.
- Warner trimmed the deficit to 26-14 but a
Trystan Pratapas back door layup started a 9-2 spurt capped by a
Deion McClenton alley-oop stretching the margin to 35-16 at the 6:35 mark.
- The visitors got to within single digits at 39-30 with 1:40 showing but Zecevic scored the final five KU points of the half to lead 44-33 at the halftime break.
- The Royals closed to within 50-41 when a Zecevic layup began a 12-0 run capped by a Sarenac jumper in the paint upping the margin to 62-41 with 13:35 and a visitor's timeout.
- Following a Warner basket, Tyrus Weaver connected on a three pointer to start a 21-5 burst which included a 17-0 run to lead 83-46 with 7:30 left in the game.
- Keiser continued to cruise down the stretch and went on to win by a final score of 96-60.
