Highlights
Keiser volleyball swept Johnson by the final score of 3-0 in the squad's home opener in front of a raucous home crowd. With the victory, the Seahawks improve to 5-0 to open the 2016 campaign.
Lindsey Keegan led the individual attacking effort with seven kills and a hitting percentage of .455. As a team, the Seahawks decided the match with their services aces, recording a season-high 20. Keiser notched 33 kills as a team, compared to 18 from the Suns. The Seahawks defense stepped up in a big way, holding Johnson to -.016 hitting percentage for the contest.

How it Happened
Set One:
Keiser coasted to an impressive 25-9 first set victory after the two squads were deadlocked at five apiece to begin the first set. The Seahawks broke the tie after rattling five unanswered points to take the 10-5 advantage. Hietala served for Keiser during the rally, recording two service aces. Johnson ended the rally but could not cut the deficit any closer than four points. The home squad held the momentum through the remainder of the opening set, capping off an impressive 25-9 first-set victory.
Patricia Costa paced the attack with four kills and a .500 hitting percentage. As a team, the Seahawks recorded six first-set service aces.

Set Two:
Despite trailing for much of the second set, Keiser took a 2-0 advantage overall after winning 25-20. The Suns began the second set on fire, jumping out to an early 6-0 advantage. The Seahawks cut the deficit to three before Johnson widened its lead to a set-high seven points, forcing head coach
Chris Taylor to call his first timeout. Trailing 11-4, Keiser stormed back to claim its first lead of the set, 14-13. The Seahawks stretched their lead to five before the Suns cut the deficit to 21-19. Keiser held on to its respective lead, claiming the five-point victory to move within one set victory of the clean sweep.

Set Three:
After surrendering the first four points of the final set, Keiser cruised to a 25-16 third set victory, clinching the match, 3-0. Trailing 4-0 to open the frame, the Seahawks mustered together eight out of the next 10 points to take an 8-6 advantage. Once the lead was in the claws of the Seahawks, Keiser wouldn't relinquish the advantage. Johnson trimmed the Keiser lead to one but could not find the equalizing point. After the Suns cut the Seahawks lead to 17-16, Keiser finished the contest on an 8-0 run to seal the match and cut off any Johnson hopes of a fourth set.
