The #13 Seahawks women's tennis team defeated #20 St. Thomas 5-0 on Thursday afternoon in the Sun Conference semifinals. With the win, Keiser moves to 11-7 overall and will look to win their second Sun Conference tournament championship tomorrow.
 
The Keiser women matched the men with a 3-0 doubles sweep to begin the day. The #3 pairing of 
Laura Ortega and 
Livia Toth rolled to an 8-1 win, and then the #1 doubles team of 
Teodora Stanciu and 
Lola Garcia won 8-2 inside the main stadium of the Miami Open to lead to 2-0. 
Ana Pinto and 
Juliana Goncalves completed the sweep with an 8-4 victory at the second spot.
 
Once singles got going, Garcia made quick work at #6 winning 6-0, 6-2, putting the Seahawks within a point of winning. Then Goncalves capped the day with a 6-4, 6-0 win at the third spot.
 
Head Coach 
Daniel Finn said, "I am definitely proud of the ladies performances today. It was hot, so being able to win 5-0 and get off the court was important so we can rest up for the big championship match tomorrow against SCAD."
 
The Seahawks will look to revenge their lone conference loss tomorrow morning at 9:00 a.m. against #4 SCAD. In their last meeting, the Bees prevailed 5-4 despite Keiser holding a 2-1 advantage after doubles.
