The #11 Seahawks women's tennis teams' comeback against #16 Xavier fell short 5-4 yesterday afternoon.

In doubles, Xavier took a 2-0 lead despite a tiebreaker at #3 where Livia Toth and Samantha Guy lost 9-8 but Laura Ortega and Ana Pinto won 9-8 at the second spot to trail 2-1 heading into singles.

Pinto tied the match at 2-2 with her 6-3, 6-0 win at #2 but the Golden Nuggets quickly retook a lead winning at the third and first spot for a 4-2 advantage.

The Seahawks mounted a comeback with Teodora Stanciu winning 6-3, 6-4 at #4 and Toth was victirous 6-3, 7-6 knotting it at 4-4. However, Lola Garcia fell short at #5 despite winning the first set 6-3 and losing the next two by identical 6-0 scores.

Keiser gets back in action on Saturday when they travel to Southeastern for an 11:00 a.m. game.
