#15 Baseball Defeats Lynn 14-13 at Roger Dean Stadium

The Keiser University baseball team won a slugfest against NCAA Division 2 Lynn University14-13 at Roger Dean Stadium on Tuesday evening. The Seahawks improved to 3-2 overall on the year.

How it Happened
  • Keiser batted through the lineup in the first inning before any outs were recorded.
  • Brad Myott doubled to left center scoring the first two runs before back to back RBI singles by Carlos Lopez and Casey Mullennix put the Seahawks in front 4-0.
  • A bases loaded walk, wild pitch and hit by pitch upped the advantage to 7-0, and a Myott RBI single to third capped the scoring in the inning making it 8-0.
  • Lynn got four runs back in the first, one in the third, and five in the fourth to take a 10-8 lead.
  • The Seahawks loaded the bases in the fifth with no outs, when Myott belted an RBI single to short and Lopez hit a sacrifice fly to left tying it at 10-10. Mullennix then doubled down the left field line regaining an 11-10 advantage and a Jack Curtis single to right field upped the margin to 12-10.
  • A Lopez RBI fielder's choice to first base in the sixth extended the lead to 13-10, and a homerun to right field by Luis Roman in the seventh upped it to 14-10.
  • The Knights platted a run in the seventh, one in the eighth, and one in the ninth, but fell 14-13.
  • Both teams had an outstanding evening at the plate, with Lynn holding a 22-16 edge on hits.
  • Myott led the way with four hits, while four different players had at least two hits.
  • Myott had four runs batted in, and Lopez had three.
  • Tylor Craft picked up the save, while Damian Boyum grabbed his first win of the year.
