The #10 Keiser University men's basketball team upended Webber International 67-56 on Thursday evening in Sun Conference play. The Seahawks improved to 22-3 overall and 10-2 in Sun Conference play.
How it Happened - Keiser led the first ten minutes by as many as three before the Warriors took their first lead of 14-11, but an Andrija Sarenac three pointer quickly tied it at 14-14 with 8:13 to play.
- The Seahawks led 20-18, when a pair of Deion McClenton free throws sparked an 11-2 run to close the half with a 31-20 advantage.
- Webber hit the first bucket of the new half, but a Stefan Zecevic jumper in the paint started and ended a 10-0 run upping their lead to 41-22 with 17:44 remaining.
- Keiser took their largest lead of the game of 49-29 with 12:19 left when the Warriors went to an intentional foul strategy for the remainder of the game.
- During that stretch, Webber outscored the Seahawks 27-18 and got as close as 60-54 with 58 seconds to go.
- Five made free throws by Sarenac, one by Stanley Whittaker and one by Tyrus Weaver helped close the game on a 7-0 run to prevail 67-56.
