The Keiser University women's basketball team fell 59-51 in their regular season finale to Southeastern University on Saturday afternoon. The Seahawks fell to 14-15 overall and 7-9 in Sun Conference play.
Conference TournamentThe Seahawks will be the fifth seed and travel to fourth seeded Thomas University on Tuesday evening. Thomas was victorious in both meetings this year, winning 66-61 in double overtime at their place and 71-53 at Keiser.
How it Happened - Both teams struggled from the field in the first quarter with the Fire taking a 17-12 lead into the second. A pair of Dominique Winbush free throws got Keiser to within 17-14, but Southeastern answered with an 11-2 run pushing back out to a 28-16 advantage with 4:40 showing.
- The Seahawks cut the deficit to single digits at 31-22 with 1:15 remaining. However the Fire went into break on top 35-25.
- Keiser outscored Southeastern 9-5 to begin the third getting to within 40-33 with 3:59 remaining but Southeastern took a 49-38 advantage into the final quarter.
- The Seahawks started the fourth on a 7-2 spurt climbing to within 51-45 at the 5:13 mark but could not get any closer falling 59-51.

Courtney Murphy paced the team with 19 points, while Winbush had 17.
