The #9 Seahawks men's basketball team cruised past Ave Maria 84-57 on Saturday afternoon in Sun Conference play. Keiser improved to 24-3 overall and 12-2 in Sun Conference action.
How it Happened - Keiser ran out to an 18-2 lead behind seven points from Brice Jenkins and six by Deion McClenton.Â
- Ave Maria got to within 22-10, when a Tyrus Weaver three pointer started a 15-3 run stretching the advantage to 37-13 with 6:22 left in the first half.
- After a Gyrenes 5-0 run made it 37-18, Keiser closed the half on a 12-3 run for a 51-21 lead at the intermission.
- The Seahawks shot 63 percent in the half, while going 7-10 from beyond the arc. Jenkins led the way going 5-5 from the field for 12 points and McClenton was 6-7 for 12 points as well.
- Keiser used a 9-0 run midway through the second half for their largest lead of the game of 74-33 and coasted to the 84-57 victory.
Inside the Box3: Weaver scored a game high 18 points, while McClenton (15), and Jenkins (12) were in double figures.
