Turning Point
The game was tied at 45-45 when back to back threes by
Brice Jenkins and
Chris Lee put Keiser in front 51-45 with 15:02 remaining in the second half of play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Southeastern jumped out to a 6-2 advantage before the Seahawks used a 6-2 spurt to tie the game at 8-8 with 15:50 remaining in the first half.
- The Fire regained an 11-10 lead but a
Deion McClenton layup sparked a 12-1 run to lead 22-12 at the 12:05 mark.
- Keiser held SEU without a field goal for seven minutes to make the margin 28-21 with 7:28 to go in the period.
-The Fire mounted a comeback and regained a brief 32-31 lead with 4:53 remaining. However,
Stanley Whittaker answered with a floater in the paint to go back in front 33-32.
-The game was tied three more times down the stretch but Keiser led 41-39 at the break.
-With the score knotted at 45-45, a 12-0 run by the Seahawks put them in front 57-45 with 13:28 left in regulation.
-The Fire closed to within 61-55 but a
Stefan Zecevic basket began a 6-0 run that turned into a 9-2 spurt to extend the advantage to 70-57 at the 6:50 mark. The Seahawks held off a late rally by the Fire and went on to win by a final of 88-78.
