FNU got to within single digits 40-31 with 2:32 left in the first half of play when the Seahawks closed the half on an 8-1 run to lead 48-32 heading into intermission.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
--Florida National held an early 5-2 lead when David Takam scored four straight points for Keiser's first lead of the game at 6-5.
-The Conquistadors quickly regained a 10-9 advantage but an Andrija Sarenac jumper sparked an 8-0 run that turned into a 13-2 spurt for a 22-12 lead with 12:13 showing in the first.
-With the score 30-16 in the Seahawks favor, FNU trimmed the margin to 30-24. A Sarenac jumper began an 8-0 burst, upping the advantage to 38-24 with 5:37 left.
-After FNU got to within 40-31, the Seahawks closed the half on an 8-1 run capped by a Chris Lee three pointer from the corner with 3.2 seconds left to lead 48-32 at the halftime break.
-FNU climbed to within 51-38 when a Deion McClenton dunk started an 8-3 run to give KU their largest lead of the game at 59-41 with 13:03 left in regulation.
-The deficit was cut to single digits at 64-55 but a Stanley Whittaker jumper in the paint started a 6-0 run upping the advantage to 70-55.
-The Conquistadors got as close as 71-64 at the 3:37 mark but the Seahawks hung on to win the game 80-71.
