Turning Point
The turning point in today's contest came in the final four minutes of the first half. The Seahawks were ahead 23-14 and had been teetering back and forth between a seven and nine-point advantage until Keiser closed out the second quarter on a 9-2 run to break the game wide open, taking a 32-16 lead at the break. Caity Riley netted five of her seven points during the Seahawks' run.

How it Happened
  • Despite scoring the first bucket of the game to take a brief 2-0 lead, the Jaguars had an uphill battle for the remainder of the contest.
  • The Seahawks scored seven unanswered points to take a five point lead with 7:23 remaining in the first quarter, a lead they would not relinquish.
  • Governors State trimmed the gap to 9-8 with 4:21 left in the opening quarter following a layup by Kanitral Averhart.
  • Keiser closed out the opening quarter on a 4-0 run capped off by a Cole jumper that provided the Seahawks with another five-point cushion.
  • The Seahawks slowly built on their lead midway through the second quarter until the floodgates opened following a 9-2 Keiser run to end the first half, giving the Seahawks a 32-16 advantage at the intermission.
  • Keiser began the third quarter where it left off, scoring 10 of the first 12 points of the new half, taking a game-high 24-point lead to force a Jaguar timeout following an uncontested fastbreak layup by Winbush.
  • The Jaguars would trim the deficit to 13 but Keiser would close the third quarter out on a 10-2 run to extend the advantage to 21.
  • The Seahawks see-sawed back-and-forth between a lead in the teens and low twenties for much of the fourth quarter before a Winbush layup with 15 seconds remaining solidified the 22-point advantage.
