The Keiser University women's tennis squad capped off the College Tennis Clay Court Championships with a win in the Navy Doubles Bracket.

The day began in the Gold Bracket in doubles play where
Megane Bianco and
Julianna Heino fought hard in the doubles finals. Bianco and Heino trailed early on the by score of 5-2 but rallied back into the set to make things interesting. Despite the valiant effort, Detlava and Momose of St. Petersburg College put away the top-seeded Seahawks by the final score of 8-6..

In the Navy Bracket, the Seahawks found the winner's platform as
Juliana Goncalves and
Teodora Stanciu claimed the doubles final. Keiser once again rallied, this time from down 4-1. The Seahawks doubles tandem won seven of the last eight games to bury PBA's Roncatti/Burns by the final score of 8-5.

"While we didn't have our best tournament in singles, the ladies did display a strong showing in doubles," stated head coach
Daniel Finn. "Even today when the girls got down early in doubles, they competed really well and played really smart which led to grabbing the Navy bracket doubles championship. We still obviously have a lot of work ahead of us but I definitely like the direction we're headed in."
