Keiser volleyball defeated Southeastern by the final score of 3-1 in a marquee Sun Conference matchup in West Palm Beach, Fla., on Saturday afternoon. The Seahawks won due to a complete team effort, outhitting the Fire in hitting percentage and in kills. Keiser's

Chantelle Zamora notched double-doubles for the home squad. McKown led the squad in kills with 18 and recorded 11 digs, becoming the all-time leader in program history in digs with 849. Zamora finished the contest with 11 kills and a team-high 14 digs.

How it Happened
Set One:
The Seahawks opened the first set with a 3-0 cushion before Southeastern outscored Keiser, 9-3, to take a three-point lead of their own. The two squads bounced back and forth for much of the first set with neither team able to pull away until Keiser captured a 20-16 advantage late in the set. Following a Southeastern timeout, the Fire closed the gap to two but could not trim the deficit further as the Seahawks closed the opening set to win, 25-21.

Set Two:
The Seahawks began the second set on a commanding 6-0 run to dampen the hopes of Southeastern early on. The Fire cut the deficit to three before Keiser scored four unanswered to take an 11-4 advantage midway thru the second frame. The Seahawks kept Southeastern in check, stretching the advantage to a set-high eight points before closing the door on the set, winning 25-20.

Set Three:
Southeastern retaliated in the third set, forcing a guaranteed fourth set after claiming the 25-21 victory. Keiser led by three on two different occasions in the set, including a midway lead of 16-13. The Fire tied the contest at 20 apiece before outscoring the host team, 5-1, in the final six points to extend the match.

Set Four:
Keiser slammed the door shut on any thoughts of a comeback, defeating Southeastern by a game-high six points in the final set. The Seahawks opened up an 8-3 lead to set the tone early on in the fourth set. The Fire closed the gap to as close as two before Keiser pulled ahead to a six-point advantage. The Seahawks maintained at least a three-point lead down the stretch, holding the Fire at bay to claim the final set by the score of 25-19.
