The Keiser University women's basketball team fell 66-61 in double overtime to Thomas University on Saturday afternoon. The Seahawks move to 8-9 overall and 1-3 in Sun Conference play.
How it Happened - Thomas's only lead of the first quarter was 2-0, before Keiser went on to lead 14-9, capped by a Desirai Smith three pointer at the buzzer.
- After the Night Hawks tied it at 14-14 with 8:22 showing, the Seahawks ended the quarter on a 14-3 run to take a 28-17 advantage into the break.
- The Night Hawks got to within a possession at 35-33, when a Dominique Winbush layup upped the lead to 37-33 heading into the fourth.
- Thomas finally knotted the game at 48-48 with 23 seconds left, forcing the contest into overtime. Smith had a long three point shot at the buzzer that went off the back rim and was no good.
- Trailing 53-50, with 2:34 remaining, a pair of free throws by Reque at the 1:24 mark and one by Smith with six seconds left tied the game at 53-53, sending it into double overtime.
- A three pointer by Miah Shephard gave the Seahawks their final lead of 58-56 with 2:49 remaining before Thomas ended the game on a 10-3 run to win the game 66-61.
