The #14 Seahawk men's basketball team defeated Johnson & Wales 77-73 on Thursday evening in Sun Conference play. Keiser improves to 15-1 overall and 3-0 in Sun Conference competitions.

How it Happened

• Keiser jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Johnson & Wales knotted it at 5-5 with 16:31 remaining in the first half. The Seahawks responded with a 15-4 run, regaining a 20-9 advantage with 12:03 showing.
• The Wildcats got to within 24-18, when a pair of free throws by Tyrus Weaver sparked a 6-0 run ended by a Stanley Whittaker basket, for their largest lead of the half at 30-18 with 4:12 remaining. However, Keiser was outscored 12-3 down the stretch to hold a 33-30 lead at the break.
• The Seahawks led 42-37, when a Deion McClenton basket started a 10-3 run capped by an Ebenezer Adekunle layup, upping their lead to 52-40 with 10:59 left in the contest.
• Johnson & Wales trimmed the deficit to 56-49 with 8:39 remaining, and wouldn't get closer than six until there was 24 seconds remaining at 74-69. Keiser then used clutch free throws to prevail 77-73.
