The Seahawks women's basketball team held off a late rally by RV Southeastern 56-51 on Tuesday evening in Sun Conference play. Keiser improves to 12-10 overall and 5-4 in conference play.
How it Happened - With the score tied 2-2, a Desirai Smith three pointer sparked a 13-0 run to retake a 15-2 lead with 4:29 to go in the first quarter.
- Southeastern got to within 23-7, when a pair of Claudia Reque free throws ended the quarter on an 8-2 run extending their advantage to 23-9.
- The Seahawks held the Fire to just one field goal in the second quarter while outscoring them 16-5 for a 39-14 lead at halftime. During the quarter, Southeastern went seven minutes without a point, while Keiser shot 61 percent on the half.
- The Fire came all the back in the second half to tie the game at 50-50 and took their first lead of the contest of 51-50 with 2:06 left. However, Miah Shephard scored five of the final six points helping Keiser prevail 56-51.
