#7 Men's Basketball Suffer First Conference Loss

The #7 Seahawks men's basketball team suffered their first conference loss of the year to St. Thomas 68-66 Saturday afternoon. The Seahawks moved to 19-2 overall and 7-1 in conference play.

How it Happened
  • Keiser jumped out to a 7-2 lead before St. Thomas climbed to within 10-8 with 14:03 to go in the first half.
  • A Deion McClenton basket in the paint ignited a 13-3 run pushing back out to a 23-11 lead at the 6:53 mark. The Seahawks then ended the half on a 6-0 run stretching the margin to 34-20.
  • St. Thomas cut the deficit to 40-36, when a Stefan Zecevic free throw sparked an 8-2 run upping the advantage to 48-38 with 10:48 to go. However, the Bobcats answered with an 11-3 run, getting to within 51-49 with 7:32 remaining in regulation.
  • The Seahawks maintained the lead until St. Thomas tied it at 63-63 at the 2:50 mark and took their first lead of the game at 68-64 with 1:48 left.
  • Brice Jenkins connected on a jumper in paint with 1:21 remaining, making it 68-66. After a defensive stop, the Seahawks had a chance to win the game but the Stanley Whittaker three pointer was no good.
