The Keiser University women's tennis team traveled to NCAA Division 1 Florida Atlantic University for an exhibition match over the weekend. The Owls came away with the victory on the afternoon.
Florida Atlantic University jumped out early in doubles play breaking serve immediately on all courts, grabbing the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead into singles play. In singles play, several matches stayed tight during the first sets to keep the dual close. The match of the day went to
Ana Pinto at the #2 spot as she would battle back from a one set deficit to level her match at 1-1, by winning the second set 6-2, but fell in the super tiebreaker 10-8.
"Today was a good measuring stick for us to see what we need to work on," said Head Coach
Daniel Finn. "We really struggled with our execution today and FAU's ladies made us pay for it when we did. The effort and energy was there as well as the game and now we just need to get back to work in practice and fine tune some things. The girls did a great job of competing and fighting all the way to the end. That alone will lead us forward in our process."
