The #10 Keiser University men's basketball team took down #7 Warner University 65-59 in the NAIA Game of the Week on Saturday afternoon. The Seahawks improved to 19-1 overall and 7-0 in Sun Conference play.
How it Happened- The Royals went up 4-0, when Brice Jenkins scored five of the next seven points giving the Seahawks a 7-4 lead with 14:49 left in the first.
- Warner trimmed it to 13-12 but a Stanley Whittaker jumper in the paint sparked a 13-0 run, extending their advantage to 26-12 at the 3:16 mark. However, the Royals closed the half on a 7-0 run getting to within 26-19.
- Â Keiser started the new half on an 8-3 run taking their largest lead of the game at 34-22 with 15:34 remaining. The Royals got to within 42-38, but a Jermaine Graves layup began a 6-0 run pushing out to a 48-38 margin at 8:14.
- Warner continued battling getting as close as 60-59 with 42 seconds left but three free throws by Whittaker and two by Brice Jenkins helped preserve the 65-59 victory.
