Johanna Engberg hat trick carried the #3 women's soccer team past Johnson & Wales 4-0 on Tuesday afternoon. With the victory, Keiser University improves to 4-1-1 overall on the year.
The Wildcats had the game's first scoring opportunity but the shot went off the post in the tenth minute. Keiser responded in the 20th minute when Engberg headed in a corner kick from
Linnea Lindmark making it 1-0. Four minutes later, Enberg doubled the lead when she converted on a penalty kick.
The Seahawks went into the break, up 2-0 and extended their lead in the 56th minute when
Karolina Broman volleyed in a long throw from Stephanie Mornini. Engberg capped off the scoring in the 64th minute heading in a corner by Lindmark winning 4-0.
Keiser outshot Johnson & Wales 23-4 and 12-2 shots on goal.
Sara Lundberg and Engberg led the way with five shots apiece, while Lindmark had four.
Felicia Sedell picked up the shutout in goal making two saves.
The Seahawks kick off Sun Conference play next Wednesday when they travel to Warner University. The kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.
