The #2 seed Seahawks baseball team fell to #3 seed Campbellsville 6-2 in the opening game of the NAIA Regional in Montgomery, Alabama.
Campbellsville platted a run in the first taking a 1-0 lead when Northwood tied it in the second on a Joee Reyna double down the left field line. A Carlos Contrerassacrifice fly to center scored Jesus Fuenmayor for a 2-1 lead in the fifth. However, the Tigers tied it in the seventh with a run, and pushed four more across in the eighth winning the game 6-2.
Northwood outhit their opponents 11-8, with Casey Mullennix leading the way with three of those. Gabby Mundo, Luis Roman, and Reyna all had two hits apice.
Steven Bruce started the game going 6.1 innings striking out five, but the loss went to Andres Caraveo out of the bullpen.
With the loss, the Seahawks fall into the loser's bracket where they will take on St. Francis tomorrow in an elimination game. The first pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
