The Seahawks baseball team got back to .500 on Tuesday evening with a 7-6 win over St. Thomas in non-conference action.

St. Thomas scored the game's first run in the bottom of the first, before Northwood got on the board in the second inning with a pair. Ryan Palenzuela led the inning off with a single before Keivan Berges brought him in on an error by the right fielder tying it at 1-1. Brandon Crawford followed with a sacrifice fly to right field scoring Berges taking a 2-1 lead.

In the sixth, Carlos Contreras singled and Palenzuela reached on an error, when Berges cleared the bases with a three run home run giving Northwood a 5-1 advantage. The Seahawks tacked two more runs on in the seventh on an rbi sacrifice by Gabby Mundo and an error by the shortstop with Luis Roman batting pushing the lead to 7-1.

The Bobcats attempted to make a comeback scoring five runs in the eighth but Weston Wuthrich came in to pick up the save.  Northwood improved to 3-3 overall on the year.

Patrick Barrington collected the win going five innings, striking out two. Berges led the way at the plate with two of the five Northwood hits.

"It was a good win against a good team, said Head Coach Jeremy Kennedy. Pat didnt have his best stuff but did a great job of competeting and getting outs anyway. Alan Carey threw really well out out of the pen for us. The game saving play may have Jesus's diving play to record the first out of the 9th. He made as good of a play as you will see and it changed the whole complextion of the innning."
