The #22 Keiser University men's basketball upended Penn State Mont Alto 85-71 in the Marietta Rappaport Holiday Classic on Tuesday evening. The Seahawks improved to 11-1 overall on the season.
How it Happened - Trailing 8-7, Tyrus Weaver nailed a long jumper sparking an 8-2 run go in front 15-10 with 13:02 remaining. However, Penn State answered with an 8-2 run of their own regaining an 18-17 lead at the 11:05 mark.
- Over the next seven minutes, there were five lead changes and two ties with the final being 27-27, when a Stanley Whittaker jumper began a 10-2 run, pushing out to a 37-29 advantage with 4:17 to go.
- The Nittany Lions kept battling getting to within 41-40 heading into the intermission.
- Penn State took their final lead at 42-41 before a Brice Jenkins jumper started an 8-2 run regaining a 49-44 lead with 15:51 left.
- With the game tied at 54-54, Deion McClenton dunked the ball sparking a 6-0 run that turned into an 11-3 push for a 65-57 advantage at the 9:40 mark.
- The Nittany Lions had one last effort in them getting to within 69-61, but a 9-0 run by the Seahawks upped the margin to 78-61 with 5:30 to go and went on to win the 85-71.
