The #22 Keiser University men's basketball team suffered their first loss of the year to #7 Bethel College 77-75 on Thursday evening. The Seahawks are now 9-1 overall on the season.
How it Happened- Bethel led 72-63 with 4:41 left, but a Stanley Whittaker three pointer sparked an 8-0 run capped by Deion McClenton layup getting to within 72-71 with 3:01 showing.
- The Pilots answered back going up by as many as five with three minutes remaining in regulation.
- Trailing 77-75, Kevin McDuffie had a three pointer with three seconds left that went off the rim and rebounded by Jermaine Graves whose put back with less than a second left was missed.
- The Pilots led 52-45 with 14:30 in the second, when a Stefan Zecevic jumper sparked a 10-0 run ending on a Whittaker three pointer to retake a 55-52 advantage at the 11:24 mark.
- Bethel led the first ten minutes of the game, when a Zecevic layup started a 7-0 run capped by an Andrija Sarenac three pointer to go in front 23-16 with 7:17 remaining.
- The Seahawks led the next seven minutes going up by as many as nine, before a Pilot layup at the 1:13 mark to regain the advantage. Whittaker then hit a three pointer at the halftime buzzer to tie the game at 35-35.
