The Keiser University men's basketball team cruised in their home opener 108-54 on Saturday evening. The Seahawks improved to 1-0 overall on the young season.
Game FlowThe Seahawks jumped out to an 11-0 lead behind four points by
Brice Jenkins and
Deion McClenton. With the score 19-5, a three pointer by
Stefan Zecevic began a 19-0 run capped by a
Brice Jenkins three making it 38-8 with 10:41 remaining. After a Tigers basket, a
Tyrus Weaver three pointer sparked a 9-0 run ended by a
Kevin McDuffie three making it 47-10 with 9:03 left. Keiser continued rolling taking a 72-26 lead into the break.
The Tigers nailed a three pointer to open the new half, but a pair of free throws by
Stanley Whittaker started a 12-0 run stretching the lead to 84-29 with 15:24 showing. Keiser continued building their lead, taking their largest of the game of 99-42 with 9:42 remaining in the game. The Seahawks went on to win the game 108-54.
