The #3 women's soccer team saw its 41 match unbeaten conference streak snapped on Friday afternoon to RV SCAD Savannah 2-1 at home. The streak dates back to 2009 when head coach
Mat Dunn took over the women's program and was 40-0-1 during that time.
SCAD got on the board quickly scoring in the fourth minute on a misplay by the Seahawks defense for the 1-0 lead.
Olivia White had an opportunity to the tie the game in 24th minute but her shot was saved. The score remained the same over the next 21 minutes despite both teams having eight shots apiece.
Louise Andersson had an opportunity in the 52nd minute but her shot was saved. The Bees responded 14 minutes later doubling their lead to 2-0. Keiser broke through in the 89th minute when
Linnea Lindmark took a pass from Ebba Blomavist and chipped the keeper from 25 yards making it 2-1. However, Keiser could not find the equalizer falling by that same score.
Keiser outshot SCAD 17-11, and had an 8-2 edge on corner kicks.
Johanna Engberg,
Caroline Bostrom, and Blomqvist led the way with three shots apiece.
Felicia Sedell picked up the loss despite making five saves.
With the setback, the Seahawks fall to 8-2-1 overall, and 4-1 in Sun Conference play. Keiser looks to bounce back on Sunday welcoming Thomas University. The kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
