The Seahawks men's basketball team played their final exhibition game against NCAA Division 1 University of Vermont of the America East Conference on Saturday afternoon. Head Coach
Rollie Massimino a 1956 graduate of Vermont was honored prior to the game.
Game FlowFor the second straight game,
Deion McClenton scored the opening points but Vermont responded going ahead by as many as nine at 27-18 with 4:31 showing. A three pointer by
Brice Jenkins and three free throws by
Stanley Whittaker got Keiser to within 27-24 with 3:23 left. After a Catamounts three, five straight points by
Andrija Sarenac cut the deficit to one at 30-29 at the 1:51. However, Vermont closed out the half on a 6-0 run to lead 36-29.
Vermont stretched their lead out to the largest of the game at 55-41, when threes by
Stefan Zecevic and
Jermaine Graves trimmed it to 55-47 with 11:56 remaining. The Catamount went back out to a double digit lead of 68-56, but Keiser used an 8-3 run to trail 71-64 with 57 second left. Unfortunately, the Seahawks got no closer falling in a hard fought contest 78-67.
