The #4 Seahawks women's soccer team defeated Ave Maria 7-1 on Saturday afternoon in Sun Conference play. With the win, Keiser improves to 8-1-1 overall and 4-0 in Sun Conference play.
Linnea Lindmark scored the game's first three goals in the tenth, 26th and 37th minutes off assists by
Sofia Kristensson,
Ebba Blomqvist, and
Selma Larsson to lead 3-0. One minute later, Larsson found the back of the net off an assist by
Molly Lukk pushing the lead to 4-0 heading into the break.
Renee Brown scored off an assist by
Beth Smyth in the 49th minute extending the margin to 5-0. In the 74th minute, Blomqvist took a ball from Lukk upping the advantage to 6-0.
Ave Maria got on the board in the 78th minute but Lukk responded for the game's final goal in the 85th minute off an assist by
Johana Espinal winning 7-1.
Keiser outshot their opponents 24-2, and 12-2 shots on goal. Lindmark led the way with six shots, while
Louise Andersson, and Blomqvist, and Brown had three shots apiece.
Felicia Sedell made one save in goal.
The Seahawks return to the field at home on Friday afternoon at 1:00 against SCAD Savannah.
