#9 Women's Soccer Win Share of Conference Championship With Win

The #9 Keiser University women's soccer team shutout Johnson & Wales 1-0 in the regular season finale on Wednesday. With the win, and a SCAD loss the Seahawks were named co-conference champions of the regular season for the ninth straight season.

Johanna Engberg got the Seahawks on the board in the 15th minute scoring off an assist by Louise Andersson making it 1-0. Keiser continued attacking holding a 14-1 edge in shots but the Wildcats held them off going into the break trailing 1-0.

The Seahawks continued where they left off in the first half firing off nine shots while the back line of Karolina Broman, Olivia White, Sofia Kristensson, and Caroline Bostrom held JWU to zero shots. The game ended with Keiser coming out on top 1-0.

Keiser outshot Johnson & Wales 23-1 and 12-0 with shots on goal. Linnea Lindmark led the way with six shots, while Beth Smyth, Engberg, and Andersson had three shots apice. Felicia Sedell picked up the shutout win in goal.

With the win, Keiser improves to 13-2-1 overall and 9-1 in TSC play. The Seahawks will receive a bye in the quarterfinals by finishing second in the conference. Keiser will play in the semifinals on November 13th in Savannah, Georgia.
