The #8 Keiser University women's soccer team shutout South Carolina Beaufort 4-0 on Thursday afternoon.
The Seahawks struck in the 31st minute with the opening goal when
Linnea Lindmark volleyed home a cross from
Beth Smyth making it 1-0. The score remained the same heading into the break with Keiser holding an 8-4 edge in shots.
Amanda Blixt extended the lead to 2-0 in the 62nd minute off an assist by
Johanna Engberg. In the 75th minute, Engberg volleyed home a ball off an assist by
Stephanie Morini making it 3-0. Lindmark capped the scoring in the 78th minute converting on a penalty kick winning 4-0.
Keiser outshot the Sand Sharks 16-8 and 8-4 with shots on goal. Engberg led the way with seven shots with six on target, while Lindmark had six shots and three on frame.
Felicia Sedell picked up the shutout in goal making four saves.
With the win, the Seahawks improved to 10-2-1 overall and 6-1 in Sun Conference play. Keiser returns to the field at home on Wednesday welcoming St. Thomas University. The kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
