LAKELAND, Fl.--Northwood women's basketball team fell to Southeastern on Wednesday evening 77-63 in Sun Conference play. With the loss, the Seahawks fall to 2-9 overall and 1-1 in Sun Conference play.
The Seahawks led early at 10-8, before the Fire answered taking their largest lead of the half at 25-18 with 8:02 left. However, a Lakeisha Blanson jumper started a 6-0 run that was capped off by a Claudia Reque basket tying the game at 25-25 with 4:49 remaining in the half. Northwood went on to take a 31-29 lead into half, with Dana Gildea leading the way with nine points on three baskets from long range.
A basket by Emily May out of the break gave the Seahawks their largest lead of the game at 33-29. Over the next six minutes, the game featured four ties, before Southeastern built a 48-43 lead. A Gildea basket sparked an 8-0 run that was capped off by Stephanie Granada, retaking a 51-48 lead with 10:58 on the clock. Down the stretch, the Seahawks were unable to keep up falling in the contest 77-63.
Granada led the way with 16 points, while Gildea chipped in 14. Chanel Brooks and Gildea both had six rebounds apiece. Blanson and Granada each had three assists.

Northwood returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to St. Thomas. The tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
