THOMASVILLE, Ga.---The Northwood women's basketball team fell to Thomas on the road 58-42. The Seahawks drop to 4-12 overall and 3-4 in Sun Conference play.
Emily May scored four of the first six Northwood points giving them an early 6-4 lead. Thomas came back tying the game at 9-9 before taking a 20-11 lead with 8:23 to in the half. Over the next four minutes, the Seahawks used a 5-2 run trimming the margin to 22-16 with 4:12 showing. The Night Hawks however went on to take a 32-19 lead into the break.
Thomas extended their lead to 37-21 in the new half before a Chanel Brooks basket sparked a 10-2 run capped off by a Lakeisha Blanson bucket cutting the deficit to 39-31 with 9:53 remaining. However, Northwood could not get any closer down the stretch falling 58-42.
Dana Gildea led the way with ten points and six rebounds while May had nine points. Stephanie Granada contributed seven points, six rebounds, and five assists.
The Seahawks return to action at home on Saturday when they welcome Sun Conference opponent Florida Memorial. The game is set for 2:00 p.m.
