Tyler Sobey

Tyler Sobey enters his first season as the assistant women’s basketball coach at Keiser ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. He joins the Seahawks following successful stints at LSU Shreveport and LSU Alexandria, where he helped both programs achieve national recognition at the NAIA level.

During his time at LSU Shreveport, Sobey played a key role in guiding the Pilots to a 120-30 overall record, three consecutive Red River Athletic Conference Tournament Championships (2019–20, 2020–21, 2021–22), and three straight regular season titles (2020–21, 2021–22, 2022–23). He was instrumental in recruiting and developing six NAIA All-Americans, while also contributing to film breakdown, scouting, and in-game strategy. Off the court, Sobey managed travel logistics, academic support, and the program’s digital presence.

Before his tenure at LSUS, Sobey spent two seasons at LSU Alexandria, helping the Generals compile a 59-12 record. He contributed to the team’s 2017 NAIA National Runner-Up finish and a pair of conference championships. Sobey also oversaw an offense that led the nation in scoring at 95.4 points per game in 2018–19 and was responsible for player development, video scouting, eligibility coordination, and social media management.

Sobey earned his bachelor’s degree in political science and communications from the University of Arkansas in 2017 and completed his master’s in educational leadership at LSU Shreveport in 2020.
