Ken Gabelman


Ken Gabelman returns for his ninth season as an Assistant Coach at Keiser University. A veteran of the Long Island high school athletic scene, Gabelman has brought a plethora of experience to the Seahawk coaching staff.

Gabelman taught Health Education for 34 years and served as Head Basketball Coach at Hauppauge High School for 19 years. He was an Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Suffolk Community College for 7 years, and helped lead the team to 4 appearances at the Region XV Finals.

Gabelman served as Director of the Suffolk County Coaches Academy for 16 years and is the founder of the Nassau-Suffolk "Coaches for a Cause" Basketball Challenge, now in their 11th season. He also served as Director of the Villanova Basketball Camp for 10 years and Director of the Puerto Rico Instructional Basketball Organization (PRIBO) in Rio Peidras, Puerto Rico for four years.

Gabelman has coached a number of sports at the high school level including Varsity Girls' Soccer, Varsity and JV Baseball, and Golf. A 1973 graduate of Southern Connecticut State University, Gabelman also earned his master's degree from Adelphi University.
