Pre-Keiser
Prior to Keiser, Davila spent four seasons at the University of Albany. There he served as the team's safeties coach (2022-23) and defensive backs coach (2020-21). Before going to UAlbany, Davila spent four seasons as a Defensive Backs Coach at California University of Pennsylvania, helping improve the Vulcans’ defensive pass efficiency from 79th in 2015 to third in 2016, and the Vulcans’ total defense from 138th to fifth in the same span. In 2019, the Vulcans ranked first in rushing defense. Previously, Davila was a Safeties Coach for one season at James Madison University, with prior stops at Otterbein University and Capital University. Davila received the National Football League’s Bill Walsh Minority Internship during the summers of 2013 and 2014. In 2013, he interned with the Minnesota Vikings, followed by a stint in 2014 with the Houston Texans. He spent time in the high school ranks, coaching at Shaw High School and Richmond Heights High School in Cleveland, Ohio. In his first job after graduation, he was an outsider linebackers coach at Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C.
Personal
A native of Miami, Fla., Davila attended Youngstown State, where he was a defensive back and linebacker. He was a member of the 1994 and 1997 National Championship teams. He graduated from Youngstown State University in 1998 with degrees in business administration, marketing management, and economics. Davila and his wife, Emily, have two daughters, Gabriella and Kylie.
