Pre-Keiser
Prior to Keiser, Thompson spent a season at Point University as the Pitching Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. In his lone season, he instructed seven All-Conference and two All-Region pitchers.
 
Thompson began his collegiate coaching career at Coastal Alabama Community College as the Pitching Coach for a season. He went on to spend three seasons as the Pitching Coach at NCAA Division II, Spring Hill College.
 
Thompson is the manager for the Wausau Woodchuccks in the Northwoods League. In 2024, he was named the Northwoods League Manager of the Year with an overall record of 132-80 in just three seasons.

Under Thompson's tutelage, he has coached 20+ MLB draft picks, four of which were drafted in the top five rounds of the MLB draft. With several others moving on to play independent baseball.
 
Playing Career
Thompson played and graduated from Point University in 2015 after transferring from Coastal Alabama Community College. In 2014, Thompson was a member of the Point baseball team that advanced to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time in school history.
 
Personal
Thompson is originally from Lakeland, Florida, and currently resides in West Palm Beach. His brother serves as the national cross-checker of the San Francisco Giants of the MLB.
